  • Abstract
Additional methods must be used to design and dimension networks which are appropriate for non-circuit-related traffic. This paper discusses two of the tools currently used by BT. The Signalling Network Performance Model is used to assess various performance parameters within the signalling network, for a range of network topologies. The Network Configuration Tool spreads the signalling load from a set of (digital) local exchanges evenly over a pool of available network resources
