Abstract :
The importance of informational databases is highly considered as major health concerns for vast majority of people widespread. This article illustrates different databases and their significance for food consumers. Some of the databases studied were US Department of Agriculture (USDA), Healthfinder, Nutrition and Cancer Prevention, Nutrition Insights and Food safety. For example the USDA database contains information about Food Guide Pyramid, U.S. Dietary Guidelines, Food and Dietary Intake Statistics, Food Assistance Programs, Food Safety and Recall information, Food Composition Database. Other mentioned databases include huge amount of data easily available for food consumers, food retailers, food manufacturer and government etc.
