Abstract
Two methods are compared for the performance calculations of a dual construction induction motor intended for use in a hybrid electric vehicle. First a conventional circuit analysis is used after calculation of the machine parameters; secondly a 2D finite element method is used to investigate the flux levels in the machine. The work is validated by experimental results.
