Abstract
A novel platform for signal processing experiments is proposed. It consists of a hardware board and an associated software tool chain to ease the development of DSP applications. The compact and cheap hardware encloses means for signal acquisition and generation, an LCD touch screen, a powerful processor and permanent storage. Therefore, it suits autonomous experimentation in the field and provides an attractive alternative to expensive laboratory equipment. The software tool chain allows the user to develop applications without prior knowledge about hardware and processor architectures. This paper describes the platform concept, architecture and applications development. It then illustrates its usage in a practical application.
