Abstract :
In this new information era, data has become vital enterprise property. By the technology of SAN (Storage Area Network) extension, data could be accessible at any time and from anywhere reliably, securely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. In this paper we introduce a new technology of SAN extension based on CWDM(Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing). We design and realize the CWDM interface for FC(Fiber Channel) SAN extension, and the test results show that it works well. Compared with the existing technology of SAN extension, CWDM has high PPR (Performance-to-Price Ratio). So it should have a better application prospect.
