In this paper, we firstly introduced the MODIS L1B data and preprocess of MODIS L1B data, and then analyzed the two steps of preprocess: ldquoradiometric calibrationrdquo and ldquoprojection transformrdquo in detail, finally we used three different strategies to parallelize the process of MODIS L1B data of ldquoradiometric calibrationrdquo and ldquoprojection transformrdquo. The result of the experiment shows that the ldquoprojection transformrdquo has more potential in parallel accelerating than that of ldquoradiometric calibrationrdquo due to its larger parallelable proportion, and the accelerating ratio of the strategy of decomposing data by row or column is better than the strategy by band.
