  • Abstract
    Broadcast mechanisms are widely used in wireless ad-hoc networks, in this paper we proposed a novel on-demand virtual backbone broadcast protocol (OVB-CAST) for VANET. Our OVB-CAST supports safety applications based on WAVE architecture and it provides better adaptability and reliability than some other protocols by its fitness calculator and the on-demand multiple backbones. And we give a comparison between OVB-CAST and other broadcast protocols to show the advantages.
