Abstract
The measurement of the effect of a passive lossless snubber on the small signal transfer function of a tapped inductor buck DC/DC converter is described. The passive lossless snubber is necessary, both to limit the over-voltage on the input switch of the converter at turn-off and to recover the energy stored in the leakage inductance of the tapped inductor. Experimental results from a 12 V-1.25 V, 20 A prototype are presented.
