Abstract :
The measurement of the full transmission matrix using the Olympus satellite 20 GHz B1 beacon offered an important opportunity to study the Earth-satellite propagation medium. Conclusions about the structure of the propagation medium is given, both in event based analysis and statistical results, using the so called quasi-physical medium parameters, Capsoni et al (1981), and the parameters of a two populations model. The characterisation of the medium towards better XPD scaling models is discussed
