Abstract :
This paper concerns the sensorless control of induction motors at low or zero speed where the rotor or flux position is tracked using high frequency signal injection. The type of motor in use will have a great influence on the effectiveness of these methods. The paper shows that the complex saturation phenomena can severely affect the flux/rotor position estimation. Two methods of signal injection and their respective processing are discussed.
