Abstract

The IP multimedia subsystem (IMS), as a platform enables PLMN operator to offer their subscribers many new multimedia services based on single infrastructure. However IMS solutions can succeed only when charging for these new services is supported in a flexible and efficient manner. In this paper a new method for charging data record preprocessing in IP multimedia subsystem is introduced. After the preprocessing, there is one CDR per IMS network entity for both event and session based charging. The method can lessen the burden of transmission between the CGF and BD.
