Abstract :
We proposed a novel new Mersenne number transform (NMNT) based encryption scheme for image data protection. Permutation of NMNT coefficients was used to encrypt the image. Simulations for different initial keys were given to verify the security and effectiveness of the scheme. The results show that the proposed scheme is secure and the encrypted image was totally intelligible and no significant information on the original image could be retrieved.
