Abstract
Results on the statistical analysis of the number and duration of individual fade events (denominated “dynamic analysis”) are presented for measurements carried out for 14 months on a 12 GHz satellite beacon receiver located in Rio de Janeiro (elevation angle: 62.8°). A Weibull model for the survivorship function of attenuation is compared with good results against the established lognormal model. The daily distribution of attenuation events showed heavy a concentration between 16 and 24 hours GMT-3
