Abstract
The central purpose of this article is to estimate the average treatment effect for students that attended colleges or universities on career outcomes. We compare the use of OLS regression and propensity score matching methods, and incorporate the role of ldquocommon support.rdquo Using data from the CHFLS Survey, we estimate career outcomes. Results suggest that the return to higher education has increased substantially in China, especially compared to those measured in the 1980psilas and the 1990psilas.
