Abstract
This paper presents a new load shedding scheme for islanded power systems (IPS). Navy shipboard power systems (SPS), typical examples of islanded power systems, have been studied. Analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is adopted for dynamically prioritizing the loads, based on changing priorities of loads and system critical natures of loads. The load shedding scheme tries to maximize various system benefits and minimize load curtailment. An illustration of the developed load shedding scheme is presented
