Empirical Analysis of Provincial Economic Development Based on the Profitability of Listed Companies

In China´s contemporary development of regional economies, the important position of the development of provincial economies has drawn more and more attention, which in turn drives highly attention on the national policy over regional economic development by decision makers and theory circle. Five financial indicators were selected which reflect the profitability of listed companies. After the outliers have been excluded out, the analysis of mean value and cluster analysis of single indicator and summary indicators to China´s 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities have been analyzed. Based on our province´s economic development theory, the reason of difference in economic competitiveness, the development of capacity and profitability has been discussed, and then a sound strategy of economic development to all provinces has been put forward.
