  • Abstract
    In this paper, the transient vibration of a cracked Jeffcott rotor with a switching crack is simulated and time-frequency features extracted by Wigner-Ville distribution (WVD) and wavelet transform (WT). The system dynamics in various scenarios including stiffness variation, eccentricity, and the angle between eccentricity and crack opening direction are investigated. A possibility to diagnose a cracked rotor by the WVD and WT is explored and reported.
