Abstract :
A technique based on symmetrical decomposition is introduced for the design of 2D IIR filters using the delta operator. The use of symmetrical decomposition reduces the computational time in the filter optimization, while the delta operator approach offers better coefficient sensitivity than the traditional z-domain approach when the sampling rate is high or when the filter is narrowband
