Abstract
We introduce the concept of high-scent links, provide examples of low-scent and high-scent links. We suggest how technical communicators can apply the concept of high-scent links to develop a better understanding of users, select appropriate descriptive terminology for links, write better elaborations, and use iterative design and formative evaluation to enhance Web sites.
