Abstract :
This paper describes the use of vibration analysis as the means of a predictive and preventive maintenance tool. From the data gathered by means of vibration analysis a mathematical model was developed using reliability engineering tools such as the Weibull distribution. From this it can be seen that by trending data that is periodically recorded an accurate indication of equipment failure can be established. The result of this study is an indicative tool for maintenance personnel during and after predictive and preventive maintenance.
