Abstract
We propose a novel lithium-niobate ribbon waveguide for difference-frequency generation of terahertz (THz) wave from infrared light sources. By using the proposed waveguide whose thickness is less than the wavelength of the THz wave, the collinear phase-matching condition can be realized. The efficient THz-wave generation is verified by numerical simulations.
