Abstract :
A BiCMOS low voltage class AB amplifier with low distortion is presented. By using standard fully differential structure as the preamp stage, even order distortion is lowered. And a class AB rail-to-rail output stage with accurate quiescent current control is introduced to achieve a compromise between low power consumption and low distortion. In addition, a four-stage structure is adopted with nested miller compensation and three internal feedback loops are introduced to suppress the distortion of the output stage. Simulation results show that when connecting the amplifier in unity-gain configuration and using a 3-V power supply, it achieves a total harmonic distortion (THD) of about -100dB at 1KHz for a load of 1Omega in parallel to 200pF. The amplifier can be fabricated in 1.5mum double-metal single-poly bipolar-CMOS-DMOS (BCD) technology
