Abstract
We designed an ultra-small photonic crystal light modulator using Mach-Zhender interferometer (MZI). For active control we used the group velocity dispersion of the defect mode in the photonic crystal slab that was filled up with electro-optic polymer in its holes. We demonstrated the efficient active control of lightwave by the MZI where each arm has different group velocities.
