Abstract :
The authors present a three-dimensional FEM/BEM-hybrid approach for layered media which allows electromagnetic field computation in layered structures disturbed by arbitrary finite sized inhomogeneities. The inhomogeneities are modeled by the FEM based on spurious mode free edge elements. The layered structure is handled by a well-known MPIE formulation which is developed in a new straight forward manner. The integral equation is solved by the method of moments where special attention is given to the evaluation of the coupling integrals. Numerical results are presented.
