Abstract :
The TUD-ESA Spherical Near Field Antenna Test Facility at the Technical University of Denmark has been used in several intercomparison projects. In the intercomparison projects carried out by TUD, suitable test antennas were available largely by chance. As it is the intention of ESA not only to continue these validation exercises but also to standardize requirements and test procedures, an effort to define a suitable test antenna was initiated. The authors document the choice of antenna for antenna test range validation measurements to be carried out at 12 GHz. They discuss the antenna specifications, antenna concepts, proposed antenna design, and mechanical design
