Abstract
A modeling of the generalized S-matrix of a conducting post in a rectangular waveguide is presented. By cascading the post and a waveguide discontinuity, iris couplings between two combline cavities are obtained. The validation and accuracy of numerical solutions are verified by experiments. A 5-pole iris coupled combline filter is designed. Excellent response is obtained.
