Abstract :
Future high speed networks are expected to handle a large number of incoming calls with versatile quality-of-service (QOS) requirements in real time. In order to satisfy this performance requirement, effective strategies of resource control and management for call setup should be deployed in the underlying network. In this paper, we deal with this issue through presenting a set of call control processes for ATM call setup. The associated control strategies based on the well-engineered resource tables are developed. The control flow of call setup is further outlined. Moreover, we also evaluate the effects of some important factors that are likely to have impacts on the system performances
