Abstract :
Power reduction and throughput enhancement are critical issues in core/metro networks in creating future networks. Exploiting optical technologies is the way to achieve both goals. Focusing on traffic grooming, important optical technologies that enhance the agility and elasticity of optical paths are discussed.
