  • Abstract
This Paper adopts high-temperature fiber Bragg grating (FBG) embedded in isotropic composites to study the effect of the tensile strength and elastic modulus of composite materials before and after FBG has been embedded, also when FBG has been embedded into different layers. The test results show that, on the one hand, a single fiber embedded has the effect on the tensile strength less than 4.7% compared with non-embedded, the tensile strength was on the increase from the surface to the middle layer with FBG embedded; on the other hand, there is little effect on the elastic modulus when FBG was embedded in different layers. The highest elastic modulus was obtained when FBG was embedded close to the middle layer.
