Abstract
National policy has reaffirmed the need for a robust and reliable national telecommunications infrastructure during all emergencies. This architecture provides a direction for the satisfaction of requirements in the evolution of current systems. The architecture seeks to continue to satisfy evolving national security and emergency preparedness (NS/EP) user requirements, effectively incorporating emerging technologies, and protecting the network from a broader spectrum of risks. Graceful and controlled evolution of the architecture will ensure continuity of service for all NS/EP users
