  • Abstract
There is an increasing number of 95 GHz radars being utilized for the remote sensing of clouds. Identifying ice crystal types is an important part of understanding the microphysics of clouds. This paper presents simulation results and measurements at 95 GHz on polarimetric scattering signatures of stellar crystals. Measurements with the University of Wyoming´s airborne 95 GHz radar together with simultaneously obtained two dimensional particle probe data are used to demonstrate the radar signatures. The presentation includes other ice crystal and hydrometeor types
