Abstract :
This paper presents a technique, which is based on optimizing the cell antenna parameter to obtain an improved radiation pattern, which will in turn reduce cochannel interference. Parameter optimization is done using an artificial neural network (ANN). Carrier to interference ratio (C/I) is predicted using the optimized parameter of the cell antenna and then compared with those obtained using the existing technique. Comparison shows that the developed technique can improve the C/I ratio significantly and thus reduce the interference.
