Abstract
In this paper, an AC induction motor drive with direct rotor flux field oriented control, designed for high speed spindle applications, is presented. The rotor flux computation is performed by a flux observer, that does not require any shaft transducer. The overall system, capable to work up to the fundamental output frequency of 500 Hz, is presented and some experimental results are shown
