Abstract :
The paper describes practical experiences of the use of a digital sliding mode controller for control of an inverter fed induction machine. It is shown that such a controller has several advantages in comparison to a conventional PI controller. Through linearisation of the nonlinear controller, the method of pole assignment can be used. The programming of such a controller can be done with a standard industrial 16-bit controller with the C programming language
