Abstract
A generalized predictive control scheme is applied in a field-oriented CSI induction motor drive for high performance current regulation. A simple RL circuit is used to model the controlled drive system in the controller and the parameters of this model are estimated online to track the system variation. Current output is predicted using this model, the voltage control signal is generated by minimizing a cost function. A detailed mathematical model of the drive system is discussed. The results obtained through controlling this model are presented
