Abstract
TC-5 of the IEEE EMC Society is interested in staying aware of the worldwide work dealing with intentional electromagnetic interference. This paper updates the high-power EM transient phenomena standardization effort underway in Subcommittee 77C of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). This committee is developing environment, protection and testing standards dealing with the disturbances caused by the high altitude electromagnetic pulse (HEMP) and due to intentionally produced high power EM (HPEM) transients. The progress of work described here is current as of 1 May 2002.
