  • Abstract
This paper describes some of the unique properties which materials with negative real parts of electric permittivity and magnetic permeability have to offer when interfaced with materials of positive parameters. It explains the boundary conditions which exist in such cases and the resulting equations which characterise the propagation in each medium. It also demonstrates how the electric field and magnetic field form the right three triplets in a positive medium and the left three triplets in a negative region. Further a model has been built to characterise the wave propagation through the structure using the boundary conditions derived.
