DC/DC topology selection criterion

Structures of mainstream telecom and computer power in present market is analyzed in this paper. Based upon electrical specifications, four novel selection criterions of DC/DC topologies in designing power products are presented. Some classical and novel excellent topologies are evaluated according to these four criterions. Then a table that shows direct relation between electrical specification and DC/DC topologies is presented for power product designer to use conveniently. Finally, an example about topology selection for telecom power design is presented to show how using the four criterions and also certify the utility of the criterions.
