  • Abstract
There are numerous design details requiring careful planning in order to maximize the effectiveness and minimize the cost of a modern EMC lab. In addition, the construction fit-up costs can easily equal or exceed the cost of the chambers. In order to optimize the investment, appropriate consideration should be given to facility design and construction techniques. This paper discusses EMC facility design, chamber design and construction issues. Additionally, the areas of cost savings, various designs and feature pros and cons, and several pitfalls that can be avoided are reviewed.
