Abstract :
A mathematical model of an industrial combustion process is presented, which was used for the development of a combustion control system. A selftuning strategy for the PI-controller was implemented, which assures a closed loop transient with a desired over-shoot. Independence of the adjusted load to the controller-parameters can be set. The combustion control system for a furnace was first implemented on a personal computer and tested. After the test of the performance of the resulting PI-control the control algorithm was transferred to a micro-controller-system
