Abstract :
Given basic information such as transmitter power, location, antenna height and gain, bandpass characteristics and transmission period of a transmitting system, the paper estimates the coverage areas of individual transmitters, and, provides a method of evaluating spectrum utilisation by fixed VHF/UHF services as preludes to spectrum planning and management. All calculations assume perfect free-space and a smooth Earth´s surface.
