Abstract :
An approximate, linearized analysis for the phase error probability density function (PDF) for the Mth power carrier recovery structure under the additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel with constant unknown carrier phase and random-walk carrier phase channel models are presented. From the analysis, the optimum receiver parameters for a given channel condition can then be obtained analytically. With the analysis for the phase error PDF, the bit error rate (BER) can be determined analytically
