Abstract :
This paper presents a high-level approach to hybrid (HW/SW/analog) codesign, which is centered around the use of UML as an object-oriented specification and description language. The proposed design flow is mostly aimed at very low cost systems (like consumer and automotive), which traditional codesign flows and tools are not suited to. The paper also shows how UML blocks can automatically be mapped to ANSI-C, VHDL and analog circuits and cosimulated by means of the CodeSimulink codesign environment
