Abstract :
A matched filter implemented in a DSP based modem is followed or preceded by additional analog filtering. The non-uniform gain and phase of these analog filters cause filter mismatch and leads to undesired intersymbol interference. This paper describes a technique to design digital matched filters which includes the spectral gain and phase compensation required to equalize the known characteristics of the analog filters in the transmitter and receiver paths
