Abstract :
Summary form only given. This talk has different objectives related to the design of vision systems on-chip: Placing the development of vision systems-on-chip in the scenario of technology scaling and application-driven technology evolution; Making an overview of the historical developments regarding vision system chip design in Seville; and the most important milestones associated to these developments; Making a classification of the different vision system-on-chip architectures depending upon where the border between analog and digital is placed; Identifying the most important challenges related to the incorporation of either analog storage or storage or both right to the sensory plane; Summarizing the most important features of the newest pre-processors designed in Seville
