Abstract
In this talk we provide an overview of our theoretical and computational work on potential electromagnetic applications of metamaterials. In particular, we focus on the classes of isotropic materials with anomalous values of their effective constitutive parameters, which may be negative, double negative, and/or close to zero. We show how, under these seemingly simple assumptions for the values of permittivity and permeability of a bulk material, the potentials in the wave interaction with such media may become exciting and intriguing for numerous applications. We provide physical insights and numerical examples for the predicted anomalies
