Abstract :
A novel coupled-segment quadrifilar helical antenna is presented, for which a shorter axial length than a conventional quadrifilar helix is obtained. The coupled segment technique allows for modification of the radiation patterns to a shape which is more desirable for satellite communications systems, such as Globalstar.
