Abstract :
We report optical scanning measurements on photocurrent in individual Germanium nanowire transistors. Photoconductivity measurements reveal that Germanium nanowire can be used as an ultrasensitive, nanoscale photodetectors, especially in the visible range. The photoconductivity shows a strong saturation behavior unlike Schottky photocurrents observed at the metal contacts.
