Abstract :
The authors present a practical and efficient approach to design a digital power system stabilizer (PSS) for which the control law of continuous-time systems is reconstructed to make the response of the digital control system as close to that of the continuous-time control system as possible. Alternate digital control laws on the base of redesign techniques (first-order approximation method and second-order approximation method) are applied to determine the control signal for digital PSS. The effectiveness of this proposed method is illustrated using a simulation study of the multi-machine test system
