  • Abstract
Because the surge immunity level of telecommunication equipment has decreased with the drive to use low-voltage electronic parts for it, we have developed a new surge protection circuit that uses a triac. It has the same operating voltage at the electric power supply frequency as previous surge protection circuits. And it enables lower operating voltage in the frequency range of lightning surges. This surge protection circuit improves the surge immunity level of telecommunication equipment.
